Obituary of Dennis H Smith

Dennis H Smith, 51, of Joelton TN. Passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at his residence.

He was born on December 28, 1970 in Irving, NY, The son of the late David H Smith and Nancy Klyczek (Smith, Emerling.)

His father passed away at the early age of 47. His mother remarried to his loving step father Walter Klyczek. Dennis grew up in Sunset Bay. His family owned and operated Smith’s True Value Hardware in Irving, NY. He started working at the hardware store when he was a teenager along with his siblings. It was a family operation everybody participated in running the business. Dennis spent his early years in the following organizations: He was a member of the County HazMat Team, Director of Disaster Preparedness, and Assistant Chief and President of the Irving Fire Department.

His love of country music brought him to Nashville TN. He found a family with John Boyd and Gene Greene at 3rd Avenue Industrial Hardware since August of the year 2000.

Dennis loved his Tennessee home and his dog Duke. He cherished his lifelong friendships who he stayed in contact with over the years and daily with Steve Crisanti.He leaves behind his loving mother, Nancy and his step father Walter Klyczek of Silver Creek; brother Daniel Smith of Silver Creek; three sisters, Laurie (John) Bifaro of Silver Creek, Linda Smith of Lancaster, Texas, and Lisa Margaret of Ithaca, NY. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Stepsisters Linda Bobik (Dale Berchou) Debra (Michael) Sheffield. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Howard and Margaret (McCarthy) Emerling, Lux, and paternal grandparents, Louis and Mederal (Nason) Smith.

Friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel,160 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 4-8 PM. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM. Please assemble at Our Lady of Mt Carmel 165 Central Ave, Silver Creek, NY. Interment will be private in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Farnham, NY.
