Obituary of Jerry D. Hyde

Jerry D. Hyde of Silver Creek, NY died Feb. 28, 2014. He was born in Olean, NY and served in the U.S. Army. He graduated with honors from St. Bonaventure University and received his law degree from the University of Buffalo. Article Photos Jerry D. Hyde Mr. Hyde practiced law for more than 30 years. He was a former Chautauqua County Public Defender and represented a number of municipalities. For many years, he served as First Assistant Social Services Attorney. He received the Chautauqua County Outstanding Employee Award in 1990, as well as a number of other awards during his service. Jerry was a loving husband to his wife of 34 years, Sheila Meck Hyde and a devoted father to his daughter, Keri A. Hyde and to his son, Kelly D. Hyde. He is also survived by two sisters, Shirley Mertsock and Carolyn Ellison; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Evelyn Hyde Service Information
