Obituary of Mary K. Gullo
Mary K. Gullo , age 101 , formerly of Silver Creek , NY died Monday , February 29, 2016 at the Cottages at Garden Grove in Cicero , NY with her granddaughters at her side.
Mary was born on May 24 , 1914 in Silver Creek , NY , the first member in her family to be born in America , after relocating from Italy. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Rachel (Augello) Tedesco.
Mary was a seamstress for the M. Wile Co. and the Van Raalte Co. in Dunkirk , NY until her retirement. A lifelong area resident , she belonged to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church ,Silver Creek, where she was an active member in the Social Club.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and was known for her specialty dishes and homemade sauce. Everybody loved her macaroni & peas and chicken soup.
Mary is survived by a sister , Angeline ( Lory) Muscarella of Jamestown,NY , four granddaughters, Krista Blum , Kelly Dickter , Amy Valvo , and Michele Gunther ,and six great grandchildren.
Besides her parents ,she is predeceased by her husband , Anthony Gullo ( 1994) , a daughter , Marguerite Valvo (1994),a son , Michael Gullo (2014) , a brother , Joseph Tedesco , two sisters, Rose Marzullo and Antoinette Perry.
Relatives and friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel , 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek , NY on Saturday , March 5,2016 from 10:00a.m. to 12:00p.m.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday,at 12:00p.m. at Our Lady of Mt Carmel R.C. Church , 165 Central Ave. Silver Creek , NY with Fr. Daniel Fiebelkorn officiating. Burial will be in Mt Carmel cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions in Mary’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 2805 Wehrle Dr.#6 ,Buffalo,NY 14221,they also would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff at the Cottages at Garden Grove for their excellent care and love shared with Mary.
