David L. Deike
December 17, 1936- October 21, 2024
On October 21, 2024 David L. Deike, 87, of Silver Creek, NY entered the gates of heaven to shouts of “ Well done, thy good and faithful servant!” He was greeted by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his mother, Ethel (Libbie) Deike and his father, Walter Deike.
David was born in Buffalo, NY on December 17, 1936. He graduated from Angola High School in 1954 and continued his studies at ECC where he earned his degree in Electrical Technology.
He was a proud patriot serving his country and continuing his training with the U.S. Army at Southwestern Signal School, Fort Gordon, Georgia as a Radio Relay& Carrier Operator, after which time he was deployed to Korea where he completed his service. After being honorably discharged, he returned home and went to work at Forbes and Wagner in Silver Creek where he met his wife, Ruth (Davidson) Deike. They were married on July 17, 1965 in Dunkirk, NY and are the parents of three children.
In 1976 David began his career with Gowanda Electronics, Gowanda, NY. David enjoyed his work and the many good friends he worked with over the years. He was promoted to Chief Engineer and retired from Gowanda Electronics in 2007.
David, along with his wife and family, was active in The Assembly of God Church where he enjoyed the fellowship of many wonderful friends and fellow believers.
Dave is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Ruth Deike; three beloved children, Patricia (Max) Feltz, Douglas (Darlene) and Thomas (Barbara) Deike all of Silver Creek, NY; six cherished grandchildren, Joseph S
pina, Adam (Amber) and Samuel (Ashlee Turner) Parker, Megan (Brian Frank), Hannah and Gracyn Deike and eight dearly loved great-grandchildren, Aaron and Kira Parker, Brantley Greenough, Landin and Harper Williams, Jessa turner, Mason and Liam Frank.
David will be best remembered for his love of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his love of family, love of country, his dry sense of humor and his kind and gentle spirit.
As per David’s wishes, a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pastor James Morrison of The Assembly of God Church, 1385 Rt. 20, Silver Creek, NY and the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY.
