Obituary of Nancy Ward

Nancy Sarah Ward, 91, of Silver Creek, NY passed away peacefully July 9, 2024. She was born on March 25, 1933 in Silver Creek, NY, the daughter of the late Anthony and Sarah (Giordano) Vento.

Nancy is survived by two beloved daughters Ruthann Rocque and Patricia (Dennis) Campese; six cherished grandchildren, Brian, Abigail (Timothy Maude) and Kevin (Sierra) Rocque, James (Amanda Jo), Jeffrey (Collette) and Jordan (Zandra ) Campese  and five great-grandchildren, Alivia Maude and Timothy Maude II, Emery and Cove Campese and Averie Rocque.; also survived by a sister-in-law Virginia Vento and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Gerald Ward, brothers, Samuel, Frank, Louis and Charles Vento and sisters, Frances Barone, Marie Giancarlo, Laura LaGree and Josephine Vento; she is also predeceased by her special friend John Mateszon, Sr. and neighbors Peachie and Thomas Schibler.

Nancy loved being a grandmother and a great-grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and gardening. She was a member of the Silver Creek Moose, the VFW post 6472 Ladies Auxiliary, Our Lady of Mt Carmel Rosary and Altar Society. She also was actively involved with the Girl Scouts Troop # 78 in Silver Creek.

Nancy was a former employee of Forbes and Wagner and Rem-Tronics for many years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church 165, Central Ave., Silver Creek on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 10 AM. Please assemble at the church. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave., Silver Creek, NY. Flowers are gratefully declined. Please consider a memorial contribution to the Silver Creek Emergency Squad or Chautauqua Co. Hospice.
