David R. Metzger, 84, of Silver Creek, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, Nov. 30, 2023 at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center in Dunkirk, NY. He was born on Feb. 27, 1939 in Silver Creek, NY, the son of the late Robert and Mary (Young) Metzger. He married the love of his life Diane Ellman in Forestville, NY on April 30, 1960 and she predeceased him on Jan. 16, 2019. Dave is survived by his three loving daughters, Deborah (Chris) Felt of Frewsburg, NY, Cynthia (Mark) Dietzen and Lisa (Joel) Schrantz both of Silver Creek, NY; five cherished grandchildren, Jessica, Jamie, Nicholas (Kirsten Burns), Lindsay and Joshua; five great-grandchildren, Hayden, Hunter, Brystol, Rowdy and Timothy; a brother, William (Donna) Metzger of Silver Creek, NY; a sister-in-law, Arlene (Ron) Gentile of Las Vegas, NV; a brother-in-law, Edward (Bonnie) Ellman of Rochester. NY; also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dave is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years Diane Metzger and a sister, Susan (late Ronald) Ellman. Dave worked in the printing industry for many years he was a pressman for Great Lakes Color Printing in Dunkirk, NY and finished his career at IIMAK as a foreman retiring in 2001. He enjoyed woodworking, tinkering on cars, collecting trains, boating and camping. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren at the families "14 Acres" in Forestville, NY.

Relatives and friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave., Silver Creek, NY on Wednesday December 6, 2023 from 10 AM-11:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 12 PM (noon). Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
