Charles B. Pratt
Charles B. Pratt, 91, formerly of Silver Creek, NY passed away peacefully on Monday
morning, August 7, 2023 in Glen Allen, Virginia, where he resided with his son and
his family for the past seven years.
He was born on May 31, 1932 in Silver Creek, NY, the son of the late Nahum B. Pratt
and Lucy (Loveridge) Pratt. He lived in Silver Creek until his early 70’s before
moving to be near his daughter in North Carolina and later his son in Virginia.
Charlie graduated from Silver Creek Central School in 1950 and Hamilton College in
Clinton, NY. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and achieved the
ranking of Sargent.
He was the former owner of Silver Creek Preserving Corporation and a former
member of First United Presbyterian Church. Charlie was an avid golfer and a long-
time member of Tri-County Country Club. He was a devoted fan of the Buffalo Bills
and an avowed lover of dogs and horses.
Charlie leaves behind his son, Mark (Mari) Pratt of Glen Allen, VA; and daughter Julie
(Luis Chacon) Beichler of Mooresville, NC; five cherished grandchildren, Kristina
and Andrew Pratt, and Jordan (Alex) Beichler, Nicholas (Emily) Beichler, and Sydney
Beichler; two great-grandchildren (Cohen and Avery); and several nieces and
nephews. He remained a friend to his former wife, Nancy Taaffe and her husband
Rick Taaffe.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was pre-deceased by his sisters Margaret
(“Peggy”) Schank, Emily Whitlock, and Eleanor Liberia, and several nieces and
nephews.
A private burial alongside his parents at Glenwood Cemetery will take place at the
convenience of the family.
