Richard L. “Dick” Eacker
Feb. 21, 1930- July 4, 2023
Richard L. “Dick” Eacker, 93, of Silver Creek, NY passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at the Bridge at Sandpoint (assisted living) Sandpoint, Idaho.
He was born in Silver Creek, NY on Feb. 21, 1930 the son of the late Richard H. and Lucy (Robinson) Eacker. He married Constance “Connie” Estee Jan.1954 in Silver Creek. Connie was one of the “ Estee girls from Bradley Road”, they were known for their loyalty, honesty, hard work ethic and most of all their good looks. She preceded him in death on September 30, 2004.
Dick is survived by three sons, James (Rebecca) Eacker of Mechanicville, NY, Mark Eacker of Tallahassee, Fla. and William “Bill” (Roxanne) Eacker of Silver Creek, NY; four grandchildren, Elizabeth (late Justin) Keyser, Halley, Sebastian (Valentina) and Benjamin Eacker; a sister, June Krupa of Silver Creek; his second wife, Joyce “Jodie” Aubrey of Sagle, ID; her three children, Shari (Steve) Hildreth, Steven and Richard Aubrey ;also many nieces and nephews.
Dick was a lifetime area resident, who graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1947. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged on March 19th, 1952 as a sergeant.
He worked for the U. S. Post office as a rural mail carrier, retiring with more than 30 years of service and also was employed by the Village of Silver Creek and the Town of Hanover as a police officer.
Dick’s favorite activities included hunting, fishing and camping.
His memberships included the Hanover Fish & Game Club where he was a lifetime member, the Silver Lodge #757 F.A.M. Silver Creek. He also was a hunter safety course instructor for many years.
Relatives and friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from 11-1 PM, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 1 PM. Interment will be made in the Glenwood Cemetery, Silver Creek.
