Obituary of Ellen B. Marcy

Ellen B. Marcy, 76, of Irving, NY passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at her home.

She was born on August 10, 1945 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Raymond and Florence (Baumgartner) Canteline.

Ellen graduated from Bishop Carroll High School in 1963, she continued her education at  Canisius College where she received a Bachelor of Education and she completed her Master’s at D’Youville.

Ellen loved children, she taught 4^th and 6^th grade at Alden Central School in Alden, NY retiring in 2000 with over thirty years of service.

Her memberships included St. Anthony’s Church in Farnham, NY, she was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Silver Creek Firemen’s Association and the National Retired Teachers Association.

She enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii, camping and her canine companions.

She is survived by her two sons, Ray Marcy of Irving, NY and Richard (Valerie) Marcy of British Columbia; three grandchildren, Allison, Enzo and Viggio Marcy.

She was preceded in death by her estranged husband, Richard Marcy and a sister, Linda Roe.

Friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 4-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 1, 2022 at St. Anthony’s RC Church, 417 Commercial St. Farnham, NY. at 10 AM. Interment will be private.
