Mr. Crowe was a great principal. I had the pleasure of being sent to his office many times in junior high and he was always compassionate and tried his best to get to the root cause of the issues. He truly cared about all of the students. Rest In Peace Mr. Crowe.

I still remember meeting Mr Crowe when my family moved to Silver Creek in 1990. Even though we butted heads a bit in the three years I was there, I always liked and respected him, because he was direct with me, if he saw an issue.
But he was always friendly when he spoke with me about it, and always made time for his kids, when we needed someone to help out, or just to talk to, about what we were dealing with. He was a kind face, and a willing ear, throughout what I went through my senior year, losing two close friends, and almost losing my mother, in the first two semesters, and always telling me to set goals just beyond what I thought I could accomplish.
Something I will always remember, and thanked him for, when we met up years later, through my jobs, or just random chance. Gonna miss that Mac. Hope I exceeded your expectations old friend.
Thoughts and prayers for his family and friends, as well as his students. We lost a great man, who was humble in his greatness.

We are very saddened to learn of Mr. Crowe's passing. He taught at SCCS when Jim attended school there; and, from 1979 through 1989, as Principal, Mac Crowe, always provided great guidance with our children, Tim, Corry and Todd H;.'s education. His door was "always open"....never too busy to talk with parents, students, providing his genuine interest in their education. When we moved to Florida in 1987, Mac's only request was that when we came up for a visit we bring him some Indian River oranges which we did, the following year, enjoying a nice conversation while sitting on his back porch. We saw him again in 2010 while in Silver Creek...I will always treasure the picture we have of Jim, Mac Crowe and our grandson, Colin.
When God calls someone Home, he leaves us all with many treasured memories.....
Our Sympathy to his daughters and family.. God's Blessings Always~~~

My heart was saddened to hear of the Loss of Mr. Crowe, my HS Principal, a family Friend and a neighbor. I have many fond memories of Mr. & Mrs. Crowe at all our schools events, times together with my Parents playing Bridge Saturday nights as they rotated homes for Bridge night. He was someone who we all respected and always knew we could go to for anything. He always remembered to ask how life was after High School, College, Marriage... He & Audrey were Gifts to many. I know he’s tracking down my Parents right now to share a story and now all of them watching over us. Blessings to Marit, Kirstin & Families. - Mary Williams Foreman

To Mac's family, my sincerest condolence on your loss. I am sure you know by now that Mac and Audrey enjoyed a much larger family of former students. As a 1965 graduate of SCCS, Mac & Audrey were only perhaps 8 years younger than I, they were just beginning a teaching career and growing as a couple during my high school years. The field trip(s) looking for fossils is about the only tangible memory from so long ago, along with recalling that Mac actually made learning fun. Over the ensuing 50+ years there were infrequent but always memorable times when we would cross paths which included their attending at least one of our class reunions. A conversation would usually include a jab and/or a tease, but would invariably end with a word of encouragement. That was the Mac Crowe we knew, cared about and loved. God blessed him with the two loves of his life, Audrey and the quest to educate. Rest well my brother and sister in Christ. Marty Link

Chuck and Marit, So sorry to hear about your father/father-in-law. From the obituary, it sounds like he kept himself very busy. I hope I can live as interesting a life as he did. I doubt it though. You're in my thoughts.

The Silver Creek community has lost another beloved resident. Mac was a terrific boss at SCCS and a not-so-average golfer on the links at Tri-County. I’ll definitely miss him as a fellow member of the Black Knight Hall of Fame committee. He was a wealth of knowledge when it came to athletic achievements of former students. Gone, but not “fore”gotten!

I could see and hear Mac as I read his obituary. Always ready for a good joke whether giving or receiving. On the serious side, he encouraged me as a student and supported me as a teacher. May your memories of happier times spent with Mac and Audrey sustain you now and in the future.
They will both be missed.

Although there was a lot of self-deprecating humor in Mac's obituary, he was notably the best of the best prankster, school principal, leader, friend, parent, husband, party guest, story-teller, citizen, and human. It was a pleasure to be his friend at SCCS. It wasn't often that I saw him after retirement, but when I did I left laughing and smiling. My sincere sympathy to Kirstin and Marit and families.

I grew up next door to Mac on Water Street in Fredonia. We had a long history of eating brown sugar sandwiches in the sandbox & hunting for his lost dog Red. Our daughter's were close in age & we had cottage visits & shared a condo at Ocean City MD. Many happy memories. I am grateful that he is pain free & with Audrey.

Dear Kirstin,Marit, and families. I will miss Mac as much as I have missed your mom. They are now together again in Heaven, the best place to he.
Lastly, I had many tears and smiles as I read Mac’s obituary as one, or both of you beautiful daughters has his humor to carry on in this world. Or, knowing Mac, did he possibly have a hand in composing it?
Sending more love and prayers to you. Carol D’Angelo
