Obituary Joanne Erwin Joanne Erwin, 85, of Silver Creek, NY. died Saturday, December 29, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Erie, Pa. on November 22, 1933, the daughter of the late Harry and Sophie (Karnet) Van Giesen. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Paul A. Erwin on July 27, 2018. Surviving are daughters Stacy Erwin and Sherri (Frank) Giambra; grandchildren Nichole (Mike Murphy) Erwin and Ashlee (Keith) Budziszewski; great-grandchildren Morgan and Aiden Murphey; siblings Richard Van Giesen and Lois Shioleno and her loyal cats Sadie and Jezebel. Predeceased siblings Amy Martin, Raymond and Jeanie Van Giesen. Joanne enjoyed golf, feeding and watching birds, especially hummingbirds, painting, playing the organ and piano, sewing and most of all, the love of family. Her license plate read “SNOOTY” and went by the nickname Wanny. She also loved the music of Supertramp, K.C. and the Sunshine Band, Elton John and Ray Charles. Relatives and friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery.
