Obituary of James F. Cunningham

Obituary James F. Cunningham, 91, of Culpeper, VA formerly of Silver Creek, NY died Monday February 18, 2019 at the Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA. Jim was born on October 7, 1927 in St. Johnsville, NY the son of the late Charles and Mary Anne (Bannon) Cunningham. Jim joined the U.S. Navy, serving during WWII and was Honorably Discharged in 1946. He married Anne Roche in 1956 and they remained happily married until her death in 2004. Jim worked for the local laborers union out of Dunkirk, NY in the construction business for many years. He was an active member of the Samuel Cimino VFW Post 6472 in Silver Creek. Jim leaves behind two daughters, Betty Schroeder of Dunkirk, NY and Deborah (Joseph) Truby of Angola, NY; a son, Terry Cunningham of Culpepper, VA; eight grandchildren; James and Erik Truby, Natasha Cunningham, Richard ,Kenneth, David, and Patrick Kinsey , Melissa Carr; 15 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Cunningham and three sisters, Betty Kraft, Rose Bonk and Margaret Polidori. Relatives and friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek on Wednesday, February 27,2019 from 4-7 PM Funeral services will be private.
