Obituary
Joseph P. Russo, 87, of Silver Creek, NY passed away peacefully on Monday evening March 11, 2019 at Absolut Care of Aurora Park. He was born on October 19, 1931 in Buffalo, NY the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Georgione) Russo.
Joseph was a graduate of Forestville High School in 1949. He joined the U.S. Marines in 1952 serving during the Korean Conflict and was Honorably Discharged on May 21st, 1960. On September 4, 1954 he married the love of his life Theresa Barreca at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. in Silver Creek and together they raised two daughters, Tina (Thomas) Radcliffe and Ann Marie (Mark) Penez both of Phoenix, AZ and a son Joseph (Cheryl) Russo Jr. of Boston, NY. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, a sister Ann Yamarino of East Amherst and a brother Ernie Russo of Chautauqua Lake, NY.
Joseph was a very independent individual he owned and operated the Ellicott Mohawk Service Station in Buffalo, NY for many years. He loved to garden growing grapes, was an avid Buffalo Bills and San Francisco Giants fan.
As per Joseph’s wishes services will be private.
