Obituary of Betty Jane Maroone

Betty Jane Maroone, 87, of Akron, NY, a former resident of Sunset Bay, passed away peacefully, Sunday (January 26, 2014) at her daughter and son-in-law's home in Irving, NY - a place she loved. Betty was born on July 14, 1926 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late John and Ivalieu (Cotton) Reidel. She was a graduate of Kensington High School in 1944. On October 30, 1944 she married Saceen Maroone, who predeceased on Nov. 3, 1980. Article Photos Betty was a homemaker who loved to travel extensively , especially to Hawaii, a place she visited numerous times. She also liked to sew, crochet and garden. She was the loving mother of Karen (Barry) Russell; devoted grandmother of Kelly ( Albert) Stutz and Jill (Richard) Balbuzoski; proud great-grandmother of David and Steven Stutz and Jacob Balbuzoski. Also survived by a sister-in-law, Marie Reidel and a brother-in-law, Albert (Katherine) Maroone. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Norman Reidel. Flowers gratefully declined. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice Chautauqua County, 20 W. Fairmount Ave. Lakewood, NY 14701. As per Betty's wishes services will be private. Burial will be in St Matthew's Cemetery, W. Seneca, NY. Arrangements are by the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, Silver Creek, NY.
