Obituary of Ronald A. Griewisch

Obituary Ronald A. Griewisch, 59, of Silver Creek, NY passed away Tuesday afternoon October 20,2020 at the Buffalo General Hospital following a courageous battle with lung cancer for the past three years. He was born in Silver Creek on October 4,1961, the son of the late Herman and Joan (Samuelson) Griewisch. He married the love of his life, Dawn Sherwood on June 29,1991 in Silver Creek at the Fireman’s Club. Ron is survived by his wife of 29 years, Dawn Griewisch; a daughter, Samantha Lau of Silver Creek; two brothers, Jeffrey (Colleen) and Herman Griewisch Jr. of Silver Creek; a sister, Patricia (Michael) Smith of Forestville, NY; four nieces, Lauryn, Alicia, Rebecca and Hannah; seven nephews, Brandyn, Nathan, Cody, Jordan, Billy, Luca and Chris; his father and mother in-laws, William and Carol (Prigge) Osar; a brother-in-law; Mike Osar; four sisters-in-law, Charmaine Patterson, Cammy Vollrath, Cheryl Osar and Doreen Schwartz. Ron was a lifelong area resident, who graduated from Silver Creek Central School in 1979. He worked for Global Environmental Industrial in Dunkirk, NY as a supervisor for over fourteen years. Ron was an active member of the Silver Creek Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as a lieutenant in the Fire Police. He loved his canine companions, “Kazoo” and “Ruger”, hunting, taking long rides in the country, but most of all his family was everything to him. Ron never took one day of his life for granted and tried to make every day count. Friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek on Friday, October 23,2020 from 4-7 PM, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24,2020 at 10 AM.
