Obituary of Laura L' Coia

Laura L. Coia , 62,of Hanover Rd. Silver Creek, NY died Sunday evening July 10,2016 at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, NY following a short illness. She was born on January 10, 1954 in Buffalo , NY , the daughter of the late William and Ruth (Bookhagen) Wagner. Laura was a graduate of North Collins High School , Class of 1973.She married her best friend and soul mate, David Coia, on March 24,1973.She worked for TLC Lakeshore Nursing Home in Irving, NY from 1998-2010. A homemaker , Laura was a strong advocate for many causes, the biggest being “Breast Cancer “.David and Laura created the Olivia Wish Run for this purpose and to keep their daughters memory alive. Olivia lost her battle too breast cancer on March 4, 2010. Dog rescue through SPCA was another movement she was very involved with. She bred Winter Haven cocker spaniels and an assortment of birds, finches, cockatoos, and parakeets to name a few that she raised. Laura enjoyed traveling especially to Elvis Presley’s Graceland in Memphis TN. Survivors include her husband of 43yrs, David Coia , two sons, David (Cori) Coia Jr. of S. Dayton NY, Derick ( Samantha Jones) Coia of Elksview ,WV, six grandchildren ,Tristan, Ethan, Logan, Donavan, Paislee, and David Coia III , a sister, Linda (Mike) Corey of Seattle, WA., two brothers, William (Chris) Wagner of Forestville, NY, Charles (Dena) Wagner of Tonawanda, NY ,a sister-in-law ,Henrietta Coia, also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Relatives and friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY today from2-4&6-8p.m.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday , July 14,2016 at 10:00a.m. in Our Lady of Mt Carmel R.C. Church ,Silver Creek, NY. Burial will be in Mt Carmel Cemetery.
