Uncle John,
You were the last of my mom's siblings to pass. Whenever we visited it was sometimes hard because I saw her in you. I know you felt the same about me because you would become emotional and cry. I'd try to put on a brave face but it never worked. I'd start crying along with you.
During one of our most recent visits, you told me your prognosis very matter of factly. You said you weren't depressed, just disappointed and dying is just a part of life. You tried comforting me and said you'll soon be able to see your baby sister, give her a big hug and kiss and dance to the jitterbug. I take great comfort in that thought.
I know the family reunion is grand with music, dancing, laughing, a huge smorgasbord of food, percolators of coffee, and a Pina Colada or two for Mom.
I will miss our visits and listening to your stories! You had some classic tales like no other.
God bless Uncle John I love you.
PS: Please tell Mom Cara and I say hello and we love her.
