Obituary of Sharon L. Erwin
Sharon L. Erwin, 73 , of Silver Creek, NY passed away Tuesday afternoon November 29,2016 at her residence after a long courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on May 10, 1943 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late James and Norine (Spencer)Hanrahan.
A retired employee of the Ford Motor Co. in Woodlawn, NY after over 31 years of service, working in many different departments. Her memberships included the Sheridan VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Silver Creek Firehouse On the Lake and G.A.L.S. Club of Buffalo, NY and a former member of the Tri County Country Club.
Sharon enjoyed cooking, baking and in her younger years golfing. She was known for her generosity and kind heart. But most of all she lived for her family, they considered her “Ford Tough” after everything she has been through.
Surviving are her husband of 33years, James M. Erwin, whom she married on August 12,1983,three daughters, Cheryl Meegan-Weimer of Irving ,NY, Denine Meegan- Vara and Bridget Meegan-DeBergalis both of Silver Creek, two step-daughters, Kathleen ( Donald) Garret of Hamburg, NY, and Shelly ( Junior) Robinson of Perrysburg, NY ,a brother James ( Mary Jane) Hanrahan of Buffalo, NY, five sisters, Elaine (Vince) McAllister ,Norine Nowinski, Denise Jenner ,and Michele Kubik all of Buffalo, and Barbara Hanrahan of Farnham, NY,four grandsons, Charles “C.J.” and Connor Vara, Daniel Weimer and Jeffrey DeBergalis.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a sister Diane Nowinski.
Relatives and friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY on Friday December 2,2016 from 5-8p.m.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10 o’clock in Our Lady of Mt Carmel R. C. Church. Burial will be private.
