Obituary of Dorothy A. Cross
Dorothy A. Cross, 82, of Silver Creek, NY passed away Friday morning January 20, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, NY surrounded by her loving family.
Dorothy was born on December 13, 1934 in Naples, NY , the daughter of the late Stuart and Gladys(Shamp) Ingraham.
She was a graduate of Corfu High School Class of 1953 and worked as a teller for M & T Bank. Dorothy was a long time resident of Silver Creek and the former owner with her husband Donald Cross of Frosty Treat on 5&20 in Irving, NY .She was a member of the Christ Chapel Wesleyan Church in Silver Creek , where she married Donald on June 9,1962.In her younger years she sang in the choir and was known for her beautiful soprano voice. The church ladies would describe Dorothy as a faithful Christian lady who enjoyed attending Bible study classes at her sister Harriet’s house.
Dorothy loved to travel with her family and took many winter vacations to Florida. In her free time she enjoyed reading and working puzzles of all types.
Survivors include her husband of 54yrs Donald Cross, a son Darrell (Rebecca) Cross of Rotunda West , Fla., a daughter Dawn Cross of Cheektowaga ,NY, a granddaughter Kelly Saez, two grandsons, Justin Saez, who is a Deputy Sheriff of Chowan County, Edenton, N.C. and Kurt Nagel, two great grandsons, Carmelo and Cayson Incorvaia, a brother Robert ( Rebecca) Ingraham of Fort Worth, TX, and a sister ,Harriet Ingraham of Silver Creek, NY.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Ingraham and a sister Eleanor Jennings.
Friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY on Monday, January 23, 2016 from 4-8P.M., from where Funeral Services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock with the Rev. Daniel Duda, pastor of the Cattaraugus Wesleyan Indian Chapel officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions in Dorothy’s memory be made to the Silver Creek Food Pantry 260 Central Ave., Silver Creek, NY 14136.
