Carmela A. Morabito
Silver Creek- Carmela A.
Morabito, 82, of Silver
Creek, NY passed away on
Thursday morning October
19, 2017 at Hospice Buffalo
in Buffalo, NY.
Carmela was born on October
11, 1935 in Silver
Creek the daughter of the
late the Joseph and
Elvira(Ginnitti) Botticello.
A lifelong area resident,
she graduated from Silver
Creek High School in 1953.
Carmela worked as a seamstress
for the former M.
Wile and Co. in Dunkirk,
NY.
She married Richard D.
Morabito in Silver Creek on
September 16, 1964. Together
they raised three
children, Mary Anne (Martin)
Gorka of Silver Creek,

Deborah (Gordon) Genco
and Thomas (Sue)Morabito
both of Hamburg, NY.
She was a member of
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel
R.C. Church, where she
participated in the Mt. Carmel
Social Club, Toast Ladies
who met weekly at
Tom’s Restaurant, and the
once a month Lunch
Bunch. Carmela crocheted
hats, scarves, and mittens
annually for the local organizations
to be given out
for winter to children in
need. She loved to bake
and was well known for her
Italian wedding and Christmas
cookies.
At the end of the day,
Carmela’s world revolved
around her family. She
could be seen attending
their sporting events or
whatever activities they
were involved in. Trips to
Lake George and Disney
World created many heartfelt
memories.
In addition to her children
survivors include two
sisters, Nancy Greco of
Sheridan, NY and Delores
Bell of Ocala, Fla., a brother
Vito (Karen) Botticello
of Auburndale, Fla. ,a sister
-in-law, Gail Botticello of
St. Cloud, Fla., and six
grandchildren, Neil (Diane)
and Ryan (Ashley) Genco,
Alicia and Andrew Gorka,
Tara and Nathan Morabito.
Friends may call at Our
Lady of Mt. Carmel, 135
Central Ave. Silver Creek
on Saturday October 28,
2017 from 9:00 a.m. until
the time of services at
10:00 a.m. Burial will be
private in the Mt. Carmel
Cemetery.
The family suggests
