Obituary of Margaret M. Villafranca

Margaret M. Villafranca ,93, of Silver Creek, NY died unexpectedly on Wednesday evening November 15,2017 at her residence. She was born on September 9, 1924 in Sheridan, NY the daughter of the late Peter and Angeline (Zappi) Genovese. Margaret was one of eleven children, who attended a one room school house in Sheridan. They all grew up and helped on the family farm. She was the beloved wife of Charles F. Villafranca, whom she married on February 1, 1947 and who preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 2009. She worked for the Silver Creek School District as a housekeeper for a number of years and will be remembered for her kindness and generosity. Margaret always put everybody first before herself. She was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. In her free time she enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle, also liked bingo and was a diehard Yankees fan. She belonged to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church in Silver Creek, was a very faithful person who said her rosary daily. Survivors include a son, Charles J. (Karen)Villafranca Jr. of Fredonia, NY, a grandson, Charles J. (Hilary) Villafranca III of Forestville, NY, a granddaughter, Barbara A. Villafranca of Fredonia,NY , a great grandson, Joseph M. Villafranca, two brothers, Anthony ( Dorothy) Genovese of Angola, NY and Peter (Judy) Genovese of Wanaka, NY. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by four brothers, Ralph, Patsy, Charlie, and Thomas Genovese, four sisters, Mary Incavo, Millie Greco, Clara Damico and Nina Tenamore. Friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek on Tuesday, November 21,2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mt.
